"L" like ... LEOPARD???

After some rainy days, sun finally came back...

so I wanted to wear a bit more my vintage floral dresses!!!

This 50's dress was one of my first purchases on Ebay many years ago....

but it stayed in my closet many years after having been enjoyed in  the early years of my love for vintage.

I loved its pattern and colors so I never feel like selling it... but what was the problem with this dress???

The skirt was too short! A previous owner unfortunatly shorten it! I HATE when that happen... so I finally wanted to try to restore the original lenght...

I chose a new purchase to match this colorfull dress!

That's a vintage 50's sweater from Ethel - Beverly Hills!

"L" like..... Laurence of course!

Or perhaps like... LEOPARD!!!

For my new Miss L Fire heels!

I was waiting for her new A/W collection but I must tell you that I was a bit dissapointed, it is much more inspired by the 30's! A lot of nice shoes but most of them will not suit my style.

I prefered their previous collection so I choose to offer me an old model instead of a new one!

I loved these leopard shoes last year but thought I would not be able to match them with anything but I was wrong! They are just so cute and well done!!!

But I also want one or two pairs of their 2013 design...
let's wait for Xmas :-)

I have always wanted a sweater with my initial...  :-)

Quite a spring look to enter fall!

Do you often change lenght of your vintage skirts?
What do you think about the new A/W Miss L Fire Collection?

CASUAL VINTAGE to fight rain!!!

And here is another post under the rain....

That will let you see another vintage umbrella from my collection!

That was 2 weeks ago...

we went to a vintage car meeting with friends.

That was for the 75th anniversary of the Volkswagen Beetle.

I'm not a huge fan of the Beetle.

First they were produce for so long that it's quite a common car.

Moreover, a lot of them have been customized thru the years and I really prefer a classical look!

No rust but shinny chromes!

Unfortunalty, weather was sad, cold and rainy....

that's why I chose to wear for once slacks!

One more time Sylvain and I matched quite well without even planning it!

Saddle shoes are really your best friends...

to fight rain in almost every situation!

I like to wear silk turbans when I wear pants for a more 40's look.

Some readers ask me to make a tutorial about how to tie a scarf into a 40s turban... but I'm not really good in tutorials... perhaps next winter when I will have more time I will perhaps give it a try!

First think to note is that you will have a nicer result with a large scarf.

Silk ones are also much more easy to form!

And one more thing that you must know... it's like a hair rolls set... you will never have the same style twice even if you use similar scarves!!!

You can easily give different looks with a bow or a few curls, side or top decoration....

Do you know the australian designs from ERSTWILDER?

Those cute animals are so GORGEOUS?

We love to picture details on our outfits...

Every small pattern is so tastefull when it's vintage!!!

The next few days sun finally came back but rain it's alredy announced for the week-end....

Do you often wear 40's scarves as turbans ?
Do you like the VW Beetle ?

Vintage UMBRELLAS

I have already told you how much I like vintage umbrellas.

It's quite paradoxal because I HATE rain...

but the end of summer always means RAIN where we live...

sad weather when I must fight hard against myself!

When it is raining, I don't feel like dressing up...

I only want to stay comfy in pajamas in front of TV, reading magazines or surfing on internet....

After years of search, I have never find a nice vintage rain coat that can really protect me from rain...

I like to wear hats for rainy days!

One of the biggest problem with rain is what kind of shoes to wear....

Most of the time you cannot choose fancy shoes or fragile vintage ones: no suede, no peep toes....

Clear suede means stains....

Even the colors on these pictures are a bit sad with rain...

That's why perhaps I love vintage umbrellas...

Instead of nowadays sad umbrellas, vintage ones are available in about every colors!!!

With my collection (I think about 50 ones), I can almost match every of my outfits with one of these vintage beauties.

They look thin and fragile but can fight every kind of windy weather!

It's not that fancy for men's vintage umbrellas...

Gray or black...

plain or stripped... that's all!

But Sylvain always knows how to bring some colored touches....

What a gorgeous 40's tie!!!

Makes us think about Matisse of course!

One more time, I can constat while writing this post....

that Sylvain and I choose the same main colors for our clothes... black and yellow... without even ask something to each other!
